💡 Good to know…
This shlok appears in three different Vedas - the Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, and Atharva Veda, and contains a subtle mythological nuance about Goddess Lakshmi's origin. While the verse describes her as "daughter of the Ocean of Milk" (क्षीरसमुद्र राजतनया), ancient texts also speak of her as Bhargavi - daughter of Sage Bhrigu. This dual narrative offers a glimpse into how ancient texts often wove multiple layers of meaning into seemingly straightforward shloks.
